🧭 1. Day‑to‑Day, Frontline Scouting
Be part of the adventure every week.
Frontline volunteers help run weekly meetings, support activities across the District, and bring Scouting to life for young people. You don’t need experience, just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to get stuck in.
You might help run games, support badge work, assist at events, or join us on camps and outdoor activities. If you enjoy working with young people and want to make a direct impact, this is the role that puts you right at the heart of Scouting.
🗂️ 2. Behind‑the‑Scenes Scouting
Support the movement through governance and organisation.
Our Group and District Trustee Boards ensure Scouting is safe, sustainable, and well‑managed. These roles suit people who prefer planning, oversight, and structured teamwork.
Trustees help with finances, property, compliance, policies, and long‑term development. Meetings are occasional, the work is meaningful, and your skills. Whether in admin, governance, HR, finance, project management or simply organised thinking — can make a huge difference.
🛠️ 3. Scout Campsite Volunteers
Use your trade or practical skills to keep our site running.
Our campsite is a vital resource for Scouts across the District, and it needs regular care to stay safe and welcoming. We’re looking for volunteers with practical skills – electricians, plumbers, joiners, builders, gardeners, decorators or anyone who enjoys hands‑on work.
Some volunteers come every week, some once a month, and some just a couple of times a year. Every bit of time helps, and every contribution keeps the site thriving for the young people and adults who use and love it.
