The camping season runs from 1st April to 31st October each year. The site is completely closed between 1st November and 31st March – bookings for dates during our camping season can be made at anytime throughout the year.
The site has a maximum capacity of 150 people, the site is divided into 10 camping areas each holding 15 people (these are virtual only, no physical pitches exist on site). You will just camp as a troop when you arrive, in one area.
The building is booked with no camper nights, you must also book your number of camper nights along with the building if required. The area outside the building is exclusively for users of the building, this area can only be used by camping only Groups if there is no-one using the building. If you are camping only and your booking extends over a weekend, please check if the building is in use before pitching outside of the building.
To have exclusive use of the site please select Entire Site, this will close the bookings to other groups and generate your bill accordingly.
Current site fees are:
£4.50 per person per night – For Scouts and Guides. Building £90 per night (Minimum 2 night booking on a weekend)
£4.75 per person per night – For School DofE Groups and Youth Groups. Building £95 per night (Minimum 2 night booking on a weekend)
When booking it will ask for a pitch – select any pitch available – 1 pitch allows 15 campers so if you have more coming book the relevant number of pitches in blocks up to 15 per pitch e.g. 36 people would need 3 pitches. If you can’t book an item like the building it will already be booked for the dates you are trying.
If on the dates you have selected you are unable to select any pitches or bookable items there may be a Sole Use/Entire Site Booking in place, this means that the site is completely unavailable on those dates.
All bookings for Dilston should be made online through OSM when creating your Event or from the Campsite Directory, if you are a Scout Association Section user or by clicking the button below and creating a free online account within the booking system.
Booking are monitored by volunteers, please allow up to 7 working days for a reply to your booking, longer when out of season, but we are normally much quicker than that.
We are unable to accept private/family bookings for camping at the site.
