Join The Team

Hadrian Scouts are always in need of new volunteers to help us run scouting throughout the District.

Day to Day, Frontline Scouting

Make a direct impact on young people every week.

Frontline volunteers are the heartbeat of Scouting. Whether you’re helping run weekly meetings, supporting activities across the District, or getting stuck in with outdoor adventures, you’ll be part of the team that shapes skills, confidence, and friendships for life.

You don’t need previous Scouting experience, just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to get involved. From leading games to supporting badge work, from helping at events to joining camps, there’s a role for every personality and every level of commitment.

If you enjoy working with young people and want to make a difference where it really counts, this is the place to start.

Behind the Scenes Scouting

Support the movement by keeping things running smoothly.

Not all volunteering happens in a necker. Our Group and District Trustee Boards are essential to making Scouting safe, sustainable, and well‑managed. These roles suit people who prefer planning, governance, organisation, or strategic thinking.

Trustees help oversee finances, property, policies, compliance, and long‑term development. You’ll work with friendly teams who meet a few times a year to make sure our young people and leaders have everything they need to thrive.

If you have experience in administration, governance, finance, HR, project management, or simply enjoy structured teamwork, your skills can make a huge difference behind the scenes.

Scout Campsite Volunteers

Use your trade, skills, or practical know‑how to help maintain our site.

Our campsite is a vital resource for Scouts across the District, County and the Country and it needs regular care to stay safe, functional, and welcoming. We’re looking for volunteers with practical skills who can help with maintenance and improvements.

Whether you’re an electrician, plumber, joiner, builder, gardener, decorator, or simply someone who enjoys hands‑on work, we’d love your help. Tasks range from small repairs and routine upkeep to larger projects that will keep the site running for years to come.

If you enjoy practical volunteering, working outdoors, or contributing your trade skills to a community space, the campsite team is a perfect fit. Some volunteers come every week, some once a month, and some just a couple of times a year, every bit of time genuinely helps. Whatever you can offer, your skills will make a real difference to a space used and loved by young people and adults alike.
